Like many of us, I have my fair share of workplace war stories: toxic cultures, difficult teams, strained relationship dynamics, white‑anting, gossip, exclusion, bullying, jealousy, collusion, pack mentalities, corruption, and set‑ups. You name it, I’ve experienced it. On top of that, there are antiquated systems, rigid structures, information overload, constant change, and the tiresome navigation of political landscapes – and that’s before you even tend to the actual workload, demands, and expectations of your role. Add in your personal life admin, family, relationships, and all the other responsibilities we carry, and there’s a lot going on!
Navigating life often requires an internal compass – and this is where the body comes in. Your body is incredibly intelligent, and when you take time to listen, it always tells you the truth. The issue these days is we've become "human doings" rather than "human beings," overriding the body's subtle cues and messages. We generally don't slow down unless our body forces us to stop.
Neglecting our bodies cues and messages of the choices we are making can lead to the burnout, anxiety, depression, cognitive fatigue, sleep disturbance, chronic stress or physical illness.
